Maa Saptashrungi Shrine

According to the legend, Maa Saptashrungi Devi, in the form of Durga, vanquished a demon king, putting an end to his reign of terror. Maa Saptashrungi, is a self-manifested idol and an embodiment of divine power. The idol is 8 feet tall with 18 arms adorned with various weapons, as a visual representation of the Devi’s protection and strength.

The right arm of Goddess Sati is said to be fallen at this place.

It is also called as Ardha Shakthi Peeta (half Shakthi peeta) representing powerful confluence of divine energies – iccha, kriya and dhyana shakthis.

History of Maa Saptashrungi Temple

Saptashrungi means seven mountains, referring to the seven peaks surrounding the temple, where the goddess resides. There are approximately 510 steps leading to the shrine. The steps and the temple were built in 1710 AD by Umabai Dabhade, featuring carvings of various deities.

One can either prefer to climb the steps by foot or opt for ropeway to reach the shrine.

The temple opening Hours is from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm
The morning, Kakad Aarti is at 5:30 am. Followed by Panchamrit Maha Pooja from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
At noon, Mahanaivedya Aarti is at 12.00 pm
The evening, Sanj Aarti is at 7:00 pm

From Pune, we take Nasik highway to reach Sri Bhimashankar temple, post darshan proceed to Shirdi.
Night stay: Rest at Shirdi after a long journey.

Take the divine darshan of Sri Sai Baba at the sacred mandir. Then, proceed to Sri Grishneshwar temple, en-route visit Shani Singapur. Post Darshan, head back to Shirdi.
Night’s stay: Shirdi

After breakfast, we head to the Maa SaptaShrungi shrine. Visit the temple and by evening we reach Nasik. Free to explore Nasik,
Night Stay: Nasik.

After breakfast, proceed to Sri Trimbakeshwar temple. Post darshan, take an evening flight/train to hometown
