The Origin of the Sri Dwaraka Dham
Lord Krishna lived in the royal palace of Dwarka which was engulfed by the sea along with Dwarka city. Generations later, his great-grandson Vajranabha built the temple called Dwarkanatha in the devotion of Lord Krishna.

Understanding the Sri Dwaraka Temple
The temple is situated in Gujarat, on the banks of River Gomati. The temple houses the shrines of Lord Krishna, Balarama, Subhadra, Rukmini, and many other deities. It is built with soft sandstone and sand. The temple has a unique blend of Nagara and Dravidian architectural elements owing to its Chalukyan style. The Shikhara is 157 feet tall and the colossal flag that’s changed three times a day, bear great symbolic importance to Hindu tradition and culture.
The present structure of the temple was built in the 16th century by Raja Jagat Singh Rathore.

Poojas and Rituals
The daily darshan is between 6:30 am to 9:30 pm.
During the open hours, Sri Lord Krishna accepts poojas in various forms like – Aarti, Abhishekam, Mangala Darshan, Shringar Darshan, Gwal Bhog and Raj Bhog.
The temple remains closed between 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
